There are many types of drinking water filters on the market today. There is constant research and development into inventing new filters and improving old types.

But which is the best? People often feel overwhelmed when shopping for a drinking water filter due to the sheer number of varieties and price range of those that are available.

When buying a drinking water filter, the first factor you need to consider is cost. Not everyone wants to spend a fortune, and for home personal use you may have a set budget. This is fine, as there is always a drinking water filter that will fit into your cost requirements.

Some of the different types of drinking water filter include charcoal filters, water distillers, reverse osmosis, ultraviolet light filters, magnetic water filters, ionized water filters, infra red filters and many more. There is of course plain old bottled water.

Carbon Water Filters

Carbon filters are a simple and effective drinking water filter and are the most popular domestic drinking water filter.

They are quite cheap and simple to install which also keeps costs down. The medium in the charcoal water filter filters out impurities from the water. They filter out most deadly contaminants including Guardia and Cryptosporidium.

95% of houses which use a water filter are using a carbon filter, so they are certainly extremely popular.

Reverse Osmosis

Reverse osmosis pushes the water through a membrane. The water that makes it through this membrane is purified and becomes the drinking water. The water that the membrane stops goes through a tube. Obviously this method can waste quite a bit of water as the membrane catches some of it. Reverse osmosis is a slow drinking water filter method, but is one of the most effective.

If you can sacrifice speed for quality, you can not go wrong with a reverse osmosis system.

Here I have outline but two of the many types of drinking water filters on the market. It is your choice which one you choose, but the two I have mentioned here have the benefit of either being one of the most affordable (charcoal) or most effective (reverse osmosis).

There can be no doubt that there are so many health benefits to drinking water. Water is a source and energy of life, so it is only natural that the human body requires it for nourishment.

It is unfortunate that in today's age of sugary drinks, water has taken a backburner amongst many people. In fact, I know many people who swear that they can not remember the last time they drank a glass of water. That is just outrageous!

One has to wonder just how long these people can survive on their soda drinks without the fantastic health benefits of drinking water.

Drinking water can have so many benefits. One is that it help keeps your digestive system regular and can reduce constipation. Eight glasses of water a day can actually decrease the risk of colon cancer by up to 45%. This fact is well documented and something that should not be overlooked by anyone. Along with colon cancer, another health benefit of drinking water is the reduction in chance of getting bladder and breast cancer as well.

It is very easy to consume 8 glasses of water per day and you absolutely must attempt to do this each and every day of your life.

You will feel more energetic when you drink this much or more water. Water increases your physical energy as well as mental alertness. You will find you can concentrate at work harder and for longer.

Healthy skin is another health benefit of drinking water. Try drinking at least 8 glasses for a couple of weeks and you will be amazed at just how much more glowing your skin will look.

Water assists your body in flushing toxins, that is why it has the benefit of maintaining healthy skin and digestive systems, because it is these parts of your body that suffer most when you have too much toxins inside you.

It really is a no brainer. Drinking water is one of life's necessities, and with all the health benefits of drinking water, how can you not do it?

People are always wondering where there are any benefits of drinking distilled water rather than regular tap water.

There are however some scientists who believe that drinking distilled water can be even more dangerous than drinking unfiltered tap water.

When water is distilled, it is boiled and evaporated. The vapor is condensed. There are no dissolved minerals in distilled water. Due to this fact, it has the ability of absorbing toxic substances and eliminating them from the body.

This all sounds good so far. It certainly seems like there is a benefit of drinking distilled water!

And there is. Distilled water benefits the body when you want to detox for a short period of time. That is, a few weeks and no longer. After you continue drinking distilled water for longer amounts of time you will suffer from some of its downsides.

When a person fasts and drinks distilled water, they lose electrolytes and certain minerals. This can cause high blood pressure and heart problems. Cooking is also affected when using distilled water, as it lowers the food's nutrient value.

A person will not benefit from drinking distilled water if they drink too much of it and for too long. Distilled water makes your body more acidic. This can cause all sorts of diseases that come with premature aging. Water that is filtered rather than distilled is more alkaline and this is much more ideal for the human body to function correctly.

Keeping in mind that many soft drinks that people consume are made with distilled water and you can quickly see that people are drinking distilled water without even being aware that they are.

The benefit of drinking distilled water in the short term for a detox is acceptable. However do not drink distilled water in the long term as you will certainly begin to suffer the downsides.

Drinking too much water will hurt you IF you drink it too fast. In actual fact it's not generally how much water you drink, but how quickly you drink it!

Recently a woman died during a radio contest from consuming too many bottles of water in a very short time frame. Her brain and organs swelled so badly that she could not recover. If she had drunk that same amount of water over the course of a whole day rather than within just one hour, she would still be alive today.

Healthy adults can process around fifteen liters of water per day through their kidneys. This is way beyond what just about anyone would ever drink, but it shows you how much water you can drink if you wanted to!

Keep in mind that you do gain a lot of water from food and other drinks and that you excrete water through exercise and general movement.

Water intoxication occurs when there is a dilution of sodium in the body from drinking too much water. This can happen in infants under 6 months old as well as in athletes. Babies get intoxicated by drinking too much water with their formula. Athletes can suffer from drinking too much water if they don't also replace electrolytes.

This is why drinks such as Gatorade are so popular, as it replaces water and electrolytes at the same time.

Most people struggle to drink more than 8 glasses of water per day. If you try very hard, you can manage 3 or 4 liters. So 15 liters is a massive ask for someone who is relatively inactive. This means you are in very little danger of ever drinking too much water.

Drinking too much water certainly is possible, just very improbable!

Have you ever considered drinking water to lose weight? True, drinking water won't magically make you thin but it goes a long way in allowing you to reach your weight goals. Not only that, but it obviously assists your general health as well and you will certainly begin to notice benefits of water almost immediately after you start drinking it regularly.

Most people do not drink enough water, that is a fact NOT all of those people are overweight, but many are.

Water assists in metabolism. The faster your metabolism, the more fat you will burn. Simple as that. Lack of water means your kidneys are water deprived. This means the liver works even harder to do the work of the kidney AND the liver and therefore your fat metabolization rate decreases. This causes you to put on weight.

Drinking water to lose weight, now that you know how your insides work, is obviously a necessity. We need water for health anyway, but if it assists in weight loss then do you really have an excuse NOT to be drinking at least 8 glasses per day?

When you begin to drink more water, you will you find you need to urinate a lot more often than previously. This is totally normal however it is also one of the factors why people do not continue to drink enough water. Don't become discouraged. Going to the bathroom regularly clears your body of toxins which is a good thing!

Obviously if we are drinking a lot of water to lose weight, we need to cut down on other things that compete with the water intake. Coffee is a big one here. Coffee dehydrates you so there is little point drinking a glass of water if you are going to have a cup of coffee after it. Attempt to either eliminate caffeine altogether, or drink many times more water than you do coffee.

Drinking water to lose weight is a fantastic and easy way to get on track with your weight loss program. You will feel more energetic which will lead you to be able to exercise more. This in turn will shed your pounds even faster!
